It’s important to understand that the Grace of God within you, which is the manifest Power Flow of the Holy Spirit is only accessed one way! And that is by faith. Faith in what? Faith in the Promises of God, and what God has done, is doing and will do for and through you! The bible says…

Romans 5

we have gained access by faith

Access means you have the key to open the door. Access means the door has been opened and you can access what is stored inside of you. Access means that the gate/valve can be opened. And how? Always by faith! It’s through faith.

Notice the relationship between grace and faith.

Ephesians 2:8

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith

and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–

The Power Flow of the Holy Spirit is the manifest Grace of God. It’s by this Flow that you are saved, and it flows through you “through” faith! Your faith unlocks the flow, and opens the door/valve within you so that it can flow from “within you” to you and through you!

You see, the Word always says, “through” faith, and “by” Grace.

There are only two times that the Bible says, “by” faith, and in both instances it is a matter of mis-translation. Let’s look at them…

Romans 1:17

“THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH”

Galatians 3:11

“the righteous will live by faith.”

But let’s look at the word “by” in the greek!

The word used is “ek”…

ek or ex: from, from out of

Original Word: ἐκ, ἐξ

Part of Speech: Preposition

Transliteration: ek or ex

Phonetic Spelling: (ek)

Definition: from, from out of

Usage: from out, out from among, from, suggesting from the interior outwards.

The Greek Lexicon Help Word Study says..

properly, “out from and to” (the outcome); out from within. 1537 /ek (“out of”) is one of the most under-translated (and therefore mis-translated) Greek propositions – often being confined to the meaning “by.” 1537 (ek) has a two-layered meaning (“out from and to”)

Do you see that! The word “ek” faith, means from the INSIDE OUT! WOW!!!

It literally means through you and to you…

This means that living by faith is living from the inside out, that is, drawing out and releasing the Grace of God form within you, through you, and to you.

Now the other scriptures that use the word, “through” faith, they also mean exactly the same thing!

The word for “through” faith, is the Greek word, “dia” and it means…

1223 diá (a preposition) – properly, across (to the other side), back-and-forth to go all the way through, “successfully across” (“thoroughly“).

And it’s “through” a focused faith that cleansing comes from within. It’s this Power Flow of the Grace of God that our hearts are cleansed and washed and purified, so that we are full of nothing but the Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit’s emanating flow, to the Glory of God! Amen!

You see the bible clearly states this…

Acts 15:9

He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts because of faith.

He made no distinction between them and us, because of their faith-cleansed hearts.

But some of us have been taught a fear-based and performance oriented gospel, from a self-righteous perspective and our Faith is not real faith, but False Faith, because we are mixed. We trust in God, but more often that not our true trust is in what we are doing for God, or what we haven’t done for God, or what we might not do for God.

Some of us are truly trusting in our works to save us, not His. We are trusting in our performance, not His, and the result is always dirty water. It’s a mixed double minded mess! The bible is clear on this…

Psalm 119:113

who are double-minded (mixed),

James 4:8

Wash your hands, you sinners,

and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

We believe we might be saved. We believe Jesus died on the cross to save us, but it’s up to us to keep ourselves and keep our salvation. We believe the Father might still throw us in the fire, if we fail. We believe we can fail. And at the center of our Faith is ourselves. We make an idol out of ourselves, and in the end, we truly believe that salvation is ultimately up to us. Paul talks about this when he says, “…you have been alienated” from Christ, and have “fallen from grace.” Which we will discuss later in great detail!

James 1:8

6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

You see the Power Flow of God’s Grace is cut off when a person is in doubt about the Promises of God, or in fear because they believe it’s up to them, and all conditionally based on their works! And ofcourse I know, all of us deal with this, and at some point are not completely focused on and conscious of God’s promises… most of us are mixed, and will admit it, just like the man in Mark 9…

Mark 9:24

Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

This man needed the Power Flow of the Holy Spirit to flood his son’s life, but knew he was mixed, so His prayer was for his faith! So that he could receive the Power Flow Miracle he needed!

You see Faith in the Promises of God is paramount to receiving and releasing the flow of God’s Presence within you, first to you, and then through you!

But your faith has a focus! You can either focus on the promises of God, and the covenant blessings that come as a right, as a child or God, or we can focus on our feeble promises to God. We can focus on what we are doing for God, or we can focus on what He promised he would do! Where our focus is, will determine whether we are filled with the Holy Spirit and Flowing with His emanating Power and Presence, or whether we are dirty, empty and dry.

It’s all about focus! But don’t believe me, let’s look at scripture…

Hebrews 12:1

“Therefore, let us throw off every weight that hinders

and the sin that so easily entangles us…fixing our eyes on Jesus,

the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.”

You can clearly see here that the way to throw/cast off the weight of sin from within the heart, mind, and body, and the bodies of others, is by FIXING our eyes on Jesus, who IS the author and FINISHER of our Faith!

Fixing our eyes on Jesus is Focusing on His Finished Work, and not our own! It’s focusing our eyes and all the he accomplished on the Cross, not all that we have accomplished on our cross! It’s focusing on all that He promised to do for us and through us, not focusing on what we promise to do for him!

You see, focusing on your works, will shut off the flow of His Presence from within, but focusing on His Finished Work will release the Power of God from within you! It will flow to you and through you, from the inside out!

You see there is a direct correlation between the “filling” of both light and water, and the “flow” with focus. Here’s another example of focus releasing the power of God within you, and thus “filling” you from the flow…

Matthew 6:22

“If your eyes are single (PRINCIPLE),

your whole body will be full of light (PROMISE).”

“If you are is focused (on Him) (PRINCIPLE),

your whole body will be flowing with the power of God (PROMISE).”

This word “single” in this scripture is the word, “haplous…”

Cognate: 573 haploús (haploós) – properly, unfolded, single – literally, “without folds” (J. Thayer), referring to a single (undivided) focus, i.e. without a (secret) “double agenda” which prevents an over-complicated life (becoming needlessly distracted).

You see here, single, means single focus! Not double focus! How awesome is that! Because a double focus leads to double-mindedness!

Either He’s able to save you completely, or only partially and you must save yourself!? What you believe will determine whether you are focused or double-minded, and your mindset will determine whether you flow in the Power of God, or whether you ever receive the Power Flow of the Holy Spirit!

The only way to be “full” of Light, is to be focused! Focused on what!? Focused on the finished work of Jesus Christ!

However, if you trust in your ability to keep yourself saved, or ability to save yourself by your works, you will shut off the Flow of God’s Presence and will never be full of Light or the Power Flow of the Holy Spirit!

You have a built in shutoff within you! Your door is like a valve, and this valve has a handle. And the position of the handle will determine how much flow comes through you and to you. Don’t believe me?  Well let’s see what scripture says…

Romans 8:5

5 For those who are according to the flesh

set their minds on the things of the flesh,

6 The mind governed by the flesh is death,

but the mind governed by the flow of the Spirit is life and peace.

You can clearly see two things here.

  1. Those who “set” their minds on the flesh, have a mind in a state of “death.” That is no life is flowing to it. That is no Power Flow of the Holy Spirit is giving it life.
  2. Those who “set” their minds on the Spirit, or have a mind “governed” by the Spirit, have a mind in a state of life and peace!

The state of the mind, is determined by what it is set on, or focused on! To set our mind, is to focus!

The word translated “governed” here is the Greek Word, “phroneo” and it means…

5426 phronéō (from 5424 /phrḗn, “the midriff or diaphragm; the parts around the heart,” J. Thayer) – properly, regulate (moderate) from within, as inner-perspective (insight) shows itself in corresponding, outward behavior.

You see, to set your mind is to regulate from within or to “moderate.”

Do you know what a “governor” on an engine is?

As defined by Webster’s dictionary…

A typical governor regulates an engine’s speed by varying the rate at which fuel is furnished to it.

You see your mindset and your focus acts as a governor, regulating the amount of fuel you get! Your mindset opens and shuts the valve within you, that is the chamber of your heart. And what you focus on determines whether your heart is opened or closed, thus determining the flow of God’s Presence from within it!!!

How awesome is that!

So focusing on the goodness and promises of God is PARAMOUNT to releasing the greatest flow, and opening your water valve the fullness of FULL FLOW! For the bible says…

Isaiah 26:3

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

You see, a mind that is stayed on the Goodness of God, and the revelation of His Finished Work through Christ Jesus, from which all blessings flow, WILL release the Power Flow of the Holy Spirit, and with it the PEACE OF GOD! Your mind will have power over every problem and distraction that exists to mankind!

You see your mental and physical “transformation” depends on the release of this Radioactive Flow!

And your focus and the direction of your focused faith can be shifted in degrees. Degrees from where? From one degree of self-trust towards total trust in the Finished Work of Christ.

Believe it or not, we are opened in degrees. And the difference between fully closed and fully open is exactly 90 degrees! Think of the faucet in your bathroom, let’s say a single handle faucet. Normally it’s handle is down. But when you turn it up, it opens, and the flow of the water is released. So it is with you. As you focus and look up to the Lord, the flow is released from the well, and the Power Flow of the Holy Spirit will begin to flow and brings washing and cleansing.

When I was first realizing all of this and the Lord was beginning to teach me on this subject, he told me to go look at my shower handle. So I did. Then I noticed that the handle was down and in the off position to the “South” if you will. Then when I turned the handle up towards the “East”, 90 degrees then the full flow of the shower began to flow.

So I did this, and immediately was moved to go look at Ezekiel 47 about the River Flow, and noticed something I have never noticed in my life, after reading this scripture many times before! Look at this…

Ezekiel 47:1-3

47 and I saw water coming out from the temple toward the east … …but…

the water was trickling from the south side.

Oh my God! There it was! The water only trickles from the “South” but flows toward the “East” the same as my shower, and from 0 to 90 degrees!!! So then immediately I was reminded of another scripture, and that is…

2 Corinthians 3:18

Focusing on the Glory of the Lord..We are being transformed from one degree of glory to another.

Our transformation comes from one degree of glory to another! That is from 0 degrees to 90 degrees, as we learn to shift our attention, preoccupation and focus from ourselves and self trust to Him and His Grace, and His Finished Work and our total Trust in Him! This transformation literally comes from the Power Flow of the Holy Spirit as this emanating water/river flow comes to us and through us, washing our hearts and minds and bodies and changing our nature from a dead and sinful state, to one that is divine and alive in him!!! Amen!!!

But before we move on to the next subject, which is about “Looking” and more detail about this focus and the direction of this focus, let’s look at the differences in our mind, emotion and body when we are focused on ourselves, verses focused on Him and what He has done, is doing and promised He will do! This is a very practical exercise.

When we… it produces (mind, emotional, body responses)

Focus on what we have to do. (Tiredness, Miserableness)

Focus on what He is going to do, is doing, and Has done. (Energy, Joy, Strength, Peace, Restfulness)

Focus on what someone did to us. (Hurt, Resentment, Anger)

Focus on what Christ has done for us, and can do for them. (Happiness, Joy, Love, Peace)

Focus on our problems. (Worry, Fear)

Focus on the solutions, and expect them to come. (Faith, Excitement, Ecstatic, Happiness)

Focus on what we don’t have. (Depression, Sadness, Anxiety, Lack, Worry)

Focus on what we do have, in Him, and what he has promised. (Power, Peace, Safety, Contentment)

Focus on what it looks like. (Fear, Worry)

Focus on what God says about your circumstances. (Produces Joy, Alleviates fear and worry)

Focus on what other people think. (My God, every bad feeling in the world)

Focus on what God thinks, and what he says about you. (Produces the anointing and the fruit of the Spirit)

Focus on how it might fail. (Condemnation, Worry, Anxiety, STRESS)

Focus on how God has promised me success. (Excitement, Love, Gentleness, Kindness)

You see… our focus releases different spiritual flows, and what we focus on will determine what we are filled with.

Or as I used to say, “What you focus on will fill you.”

Now it’s time to investigate further, because to focus means to look. To look means to seek. And its through our meditations and focused seeking and looking for the Lord we find even more revelation into this amazing truth, that your focused faith, will release a Powerful Flow! And the greater your focus, the greater your flow, until you both receive and release the fullness of all of God’s Power and Presence in your life and the lives of others around you! Amen!
